The main reason people visit an about me page is to read about the person who runs a company and see if they think they might want to work with you. To find out if I can solve your problem, right?
The first thing you ought to know about me is that I’m an odd sort of person. Most of the time I feel like I was born in the wrong century, and on the wrong continent. For hundreds of years, European culture was centered around the idea of creating beauty for the masses through design.
Buildings were covered in art. Some of it painting, some sculpture, or mosaic, or fresco… but the commonality was that beauty belonged to everyone.
And that is the heart of how I approach my work. Visual branding is the art of the twenty-first century. What we see around us can either elevate us with beauty and refinement, or it can lower us through bare utilitarianism. Do not get me wrong, minimalism can be stunning, and so can masculinity, and quirkiness, and anything else that is true to the brand. It does not have to be feminine to be beautiful, but it does have to refined.
Understanding beauty is my special gift, and if you get to know me, you’ll know that I didn’t always see it that way. In fact, in college my art professor actually once told me that if all I care about is “pretty” then I should go to beauty school.
So the second thing you need to know is I know what it’s like to march uphill, against the wind, to go after your dreams. I know how hard it can be to keep believing in yourself when a so-called “expert” tells you it can’t be done.
And I bring all of that faith in trusting to who I am and invest it in my clients (and my family and friends). I am not an accident, and neither are you. Who you are is who the world needs.
In every project I have done, there has been a lightbulb moment when my client tears up and says, “That is exactly me. How did you do that?” It’s that moment that I work for, that makes what I do a magical experience for us both.
And that is what it’s all about. The magic.
Beauty. Truth. Transformation.
